Chevrolet
Hall of Fame Museum teams up with Cromwell Radio Group to benefit
Historic Lincoln Square Theatre.
Mark your
calendars right away for entertainment at a great value to support
a great cause as The Chevrolet Hall of fame Museum and Cromwell
Radio Group (www.cromwellradio.com)
present "Save the Lincoln Square Theatre". This
is the best value in entertainment you will see this year, not
to mention for a great cause! The lineup will consist of one of
the funniest comedians in Central Illinois with Ted Denson (www.teddenson.com)
kicking off the show before hearing 1980's local favorite rockers
- "BORDERLINE", followed by the ultimate "Eagles"
tribute experience from Chicago, IL.- "Heartache Tonight".
This will be a show you don't want to miss! This is entertainment
at its finest! Borderline was the hottest local rock band during
the 80's playing as much as 5-6 nights a week across the Midwest,
also writing several originals that could be heard on local radio
stations in Central Illinois. Heartache Tonight (www.heartachetonight.com)
has performed flawlessly for a number of years only to perfect
one of the greatest bands of all time - The Eagles.
You will not
believe your ears when you hear this band! Their harmony's will
give you chills as we come together on Friday Evening December
9th, at 7:00 pm (CST).
Tickets
are just $10.00 in advance or $12.00 day of show - GENERAL
ADMISSION - in other words - first come - first served. You will
want to get your tickets early as this show will sell out! Again,
this is entertainment at its finest that is very inexpensive,
plus help out a great cause. You may want to get there early as
the seating is General Admission and there will be several surprises
in store for you starting at 7:00 pm. There will also be an auction
during the intermission for an antique Fender 12 string guitar.
All proceeds
will go to help the Historic Lincoln Square Theatre keep their
doors open so they can continue to bring us entertainment at its
finest! There will also be a 50/50 drawing. You are encouraged
to get your tickets before they sell out. The Historic Lincoln
Square Theatre is one of, if not the oldest still in operation
theater in ILLINOIS. After a couple of lightening strikes this
past summer the theater has fell back on hard economic times and
could use a shot in the arm to help keep the doors open. The historic
theater in downtown Decatur, IL. was struck with lightening not
once but twice doing very costly damage and loosing very expensive
equipment.
The LST (www.lincolnsquaretheatre.com)
is a very unique and historic theater that has seen many famous
artist perform over its 95 year rich history! For a list of some
of the past performers, click on website listed above then click
on history. The theate opened October 26th, 1916.

The
Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum "1st
Annual Memorabilia & Classic Car Auction" is now
History!
I'm very pleased
to announce the long anticipated "1st Annual Memorabilia
& Classic Car Auction" being presented by the Chevrolet
Hall of Fame Museum in Decatur, IL. on Saturday October 29th @
8:00 am (cst) is now completed. There was a preview party on Friday
October 28th from 5:00-8:00 pm.
Just shy of
50 cars and lots of memorabilia, antique and special interest
automobiles and motorcycles were auctioned off for the inaugural
year. This will grow in 2012 !
The memorabilia
included gas pumps, porceline and neon signs, antique bicycles
and pedal cars and more! We had some of those hard or impossible
to find collector car parts.
The auction
started promptly after the National Anthem on Saturday morning
with memorabila being first offered with "NO RESERVE"
followed directly thereafter with automobiles.
Commissions
only applied if seller accepted last bid or if sold through "Bids
In Motion". All bidders must be registered to bid! Each car,
truck or motorcycle was a seperate entry.
We feel we
had a very unique opportunity with location and with there not
being any other classic car auctions in the Central Illinois area.
We had a very experianced top quality auctioneering staff and
a fantastic facility for a great event!
If you have
any questions, as always, feel free to call me. Watch this page
for information about our 2012 Event !!

The
Chevrolet Hall Of Fame Museum
2nd Annual Night Before "The Hunnert Car Pile-Up" Cruise-In
was
a great event !
Just wanted
to "Thank" everyone including attendees, sponsors and
donators to this year's event held October 7th! We had a great
turn-out with over 200 cars and I think everyone had a real good
time. The entertainment was also great (The Ultimate "CSNY"
Experiance!!! A Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Tribute Band,
from Chicago and Kidd Kadillac and the Continentals).
Special Thanks
to Coles County Corvette Club for all the help in collecting entry
fee's and Bob & Dixie Hedden for the great concessions, and
LaGondola & Tony Cori for the food for the band and helpers!
We heard nothing
but good comments about the food from workers and band and from
the consessions from Dixie's Concessions. That was appreciated
by all. Can't leave out Scott Bowers and Fast Impressions for
their fantastic job on flyers for the event that are nothing but
FIRST CLASS! Look at flyers for any other event and see how they
compare? Hope all of you had a good time and again "Thanks"
for all the help. See and talk to all of you soon!!! If I have
forgotten anyone or don't have their email address, please let
them know for me.

A Word
about the Bands !!
"Marrakesh
Express is a CSNY tribute, but they do not imitate as much
as capture the spirit of. They are an organic, real band,
with their own distinct personalities that shine through
(often humorously) in their rapport with the audience. Their
harmonies are gorgeous. They're great people -- fun and
energetic. They are the most original tribute band I've
ever seen."
~Mark
Schmidt, Casino Regina
There are hundreds, if not thousands of tribute bands performing
the music of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin,
U2, and other monsters of rock. But Crosby, Stills, Nash,
& Young? Next to none.
A band
dedicated to tributing CSNY is unheard of due to the difficulty
in replicating the 3- and 4-part vocal harmonies that made
the group international superstars. Marrakesh Express excels
at reproducing CSNY's complex songs and cascading, layered
harmonies, and takes the audience back to the late 1960s
with youthful musicians who bring an authentic hippie vibe
and visual to the stage.
CSNY
was arguably the biggest band in the world after the demise
of the Beatles, and is one of the most enduring and influential
musical groups of all time. The band, born in the turbulent
years of the late 1960s, released hit after hit that spoke
directly for their generation. Their songs remain in heavy
rotation on classic rock radio stations to this day.
Marrakesh
Express upholds the integrity of that music with their vivid
and realistic performance of CSNY's most recognizable songs.
Featuring four harmonizing vocalists backed by a top-flight
band, they deliver a unique and energetic concert performing
the classic CSNY hits, deep cuts, and fan favorites.
Marrakesh
Express has played to literally tens of thousands of appreciative
fans including the headlining slot at the Woodstock 40th
Anniversary Tribute Concert in 2009. The music of CSNY has
stood the test of time and fans of the classic rockers,
as well as young people who are curious about "the
60s," are anxious to venture out to hear it represented
live.
