The First Annual Veterans War Memorial Car Show Report!

July 18th, 2009

Well the Veterans War Memorial Charity Car Show at the Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum is in the books! The show proved to be a major success for the War Memorial and was great fun for all who attended! All the proceeds went to help Bob Dondeville finish a memorial that he built in a park in Mt. Zion. The weather helped to bring those cars out and we had a fantastic showing. Not counting club cars, and those vehicles that arrived late in the day after registration closed, we estimate all in all that there were over 400 cars at the event, with over 300 automobiles from all over the region registering.

There were a number of events that took place to keep the massive crowd entertained including a very emotional Military presentation by Bob Dondeville, The Barber Shop Quartet, Model T rides, Pinewood Derby Contest, burn out from Larry Bullock and his 1967 Bullock Garages Camaro drag car and much much more!!

There were 36 classes for this judged show with 3 trophies in each class! There were also several specialty awards and those were some very unique trophies! This turned out to be a first class car show with great door prizes and give a ways from a lot of sponsors. Fat Boys DJ Service was here spinning the tunes! Raffle Tickets and much, much more made it a successful event!

Below are some photos from the day!

We have a lot of great sponsors that made this all possible and we want to thank all of them. Please don't forget to support our sponsors, listed below. We hope to have a bigger and better event for next year, so watch our website as we start the planning and get it scheduled!

Also, a big thanks to those who attended and entered their cars in our show!
